Petrișor Peiu, the leader of the AUR senators, stated that the only solution for overcoming the political crisis in Romania is the organization of early elections.
In a message on Facebook, he emphasized that AUR is a leader in polls and has the right to set its own policy, without depending on other parties. Peiu stated that any government voted in currently will only prolong the crisis, emphasizing that the current coalition of PSD, PNL, USR, and UDMR cannot govern effectively. Additionally, AUR announced that its parliamentarians will not support the Veștea Government, despite the designated prime minister's willingness to negotiate.
The investiture of this government has been postponed due to a lack of majority support, and PSD leader Sorin Grindeanu announced that they will decide on Sunday whether or not to vote for the government.
AUR denied that it had held negotiations with PSD to support the Veștea Government.
