Anamaria Gavrilă, the president of the Young People's Party (POT), stated that George Simion, the leader of AUR, tried to convince her to support Anca Alexandrescu for the Capital City Mayor, threatening her that otherwise she would be considered a traitor of the sovereignists. Gavrilă emphasized the confusion among voters, who no longer understand the current political alliances. She explained that the sovereignists want new candidates, not individuals associated with the old system, and questioned the legitimacy of Alexandrescu's candidacy. Additionally, the former presidential candidate, Călin Georgescu, announced that he does not support anyone in the elections for the Capital City Mayor, distancing himself from the electoral process. Gavrilă criticized the way the situation was handled, stating that she cannot be forced to support a candidate without a prior debate.
