TV host Anca Alexandrescu and AUR leader George Simion exchanged tense remarks on Thursday afternoon during a live broadcast on Realitatea Plus. The dispute erupted after the presentation of alleged transcripts in which Simion’s name appears in the case involving businessman Fănel Bogos.

Simion intervened by phone to challenge the information presented and claimed that he had never met Bogos. The AUR leader said he had directed the businessman to Parliament’s Committee on Abuses, but “under no circumstances” in April.

Anca Alexandrescu asked him whether AUR had received products from Bogos during the election campaign or during the floods in Suceava, as well as about his relationship with Florin Aurelian Burculescu and political leaders. Simion denied the allegations and said that a “smear operation” was being prepared against his party because it had not supported the Veștea Government.

The discussion intensified when the host asked him to respond to whether he had negotiated with Sorin Grindeanu and businessman Vasile Pușcaș before the government vote. Simion refused to answer directly, describing the questions as an interrogation. The program was abruptly interrupted after the two reproached each other over their tone.
