AUR President George Simion announced on Thursday, October 22, that he would file lawsuits against people whom he accuses of conducting a campaign of attacks against him and the party. The party leader said in a video message posted on Facebook that the first claims would be filed that same day.
Among those targeted would reportedly be TV presenter Anca Alexandrescu, with whom George Simion has been involved in a public conflict for several months. The politician referred to “the woman who gets agitated night after night in TV studios,” without mentioning her name.
The conflict between AUR and Realitatea Plus intensified in the summer of 2026, amid disagreements over the party’s position in negotiations to form the Veștea Government. The relationship also deteriorated following a financial dispute. On September 10, DBV Media House SRL, the company that manages the station’s advertising, sued AUR over alleged outstanding debts, accusations rejected by George Simion.
Another tense moment took place on October 8, when AUR leader George Simion and Anca Alexandrescu confronted each other live over the case of businessman Fănel Bogos. The TV presenter later accused Simion of encouraging attacks against his critics, but presented no public evidence of a coordinated campaign. Simion rejected the accusations.
