PNL Deputy Alexandru Muraru criticized the lack of a public reaction from President Nicușor Dan after the CCR's decision regarding the Integrity Law, accusing PSD of using legislative changes to eliminate political opponents. Muraru called on the president to intervene to stop the provision that could leave the mayor of Timișoara, Dominic Fritz, declared in a conflict of interest, without a mandate.
The PSD amendment provides for the loss of office for elected officials declared incompatible before the law comes into force. Muraru argues that this change mainly targets the USR leader and that PSD uses justice to weaken political opponents.
"From my point of view, you have fallen into the PSD-AUR trap. If you had made this gesture today, after yesterday's CCR decision, the message sent would have been a strong one,” said Alexandru Muraru.
He also criticized the CCR's decision regarding the publication of wealth declarations, emphasizing that limiting access to this information reduces transparency. Muraru warned that abuses of the system could affect anyone in the future, not just Fritz. The Integrity Law is linked to obtaining European funds, and its promulgation is essential for the PNRR.
