DRDP Brasov has started clearing the Transfăgărășan, estimating its opening "well before July 1".

The work started on May 1, and road workers from Brasov are working in avalanche-free areas and only when weather conditions allow safe intervention. Transfăgărășanul is 151 km long and crosses the Făgăraș Mountains, making it the second highest alpine road in Romania.
