CNAIR has closed, starting today, October 20, 2025, traffic on Transfăgărășan and Transalpina due to unfavorable weather conditions.

CNAIR has announced the closure of traffic on DN7C (Transfăgărășan) between Piscu Negru and Bâlea Cascadă, as well as on DN67C (Transalpina) from Rânca to Curpat, starting Monday, due to unfavorable weather conditions.

The measure was taken based on evaluations conducted by the Special Revision Commissions, which identified significant risks, including heavy snowfall, blizzards, frequent avalanches, and landslides.

CNAIR emphasized that atmospheric instability at altitude can generate extreme phenomena, and the closed roads are properly signposted for the safety of road users.
