58% of Romanians do not support the reintroduction of compulsory military service, a poll shows.

The poll shows that 58% of the general population does not agree with the reintroduction of compulsory military service in Romania, while 35% would accept it. Also, 71% of Romanians do not believe that the Romanian army would be able to cope if the country was attacked. The Defense Minister has said that the reintroduction of compulsory military service is out of the question.
