Nvidia is preparing a $30 billion investment in OpenAI

Nvidia is close to completing a $30 billion investment in OpenAI, as part of a funding round launched in December, through which the company is seeking over $100 billion. The round would value the ChatGPT developer at around $830 billion post-investment and could become one of the largest private capital raises.

Alongside Nvidia, SoftBank is negotiating a $30 billion investment, and Amazon could contribute up to $50 billion. OpenAI will use a large portion of the capital for the purchase of Nvidia chips, while also expanding partnerships with other suppliers, such as AMD. Jensen Huang confirmed that Nvidia will participate "without a doubt" with a significant investment.
