Microsoft has announced that the famous Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) will be replaced with a Black Screen of Death in Windows 11, marking the first major design change in Windows 8. The new BSOD, available in the Preview Release, has a minimalistic look and will continue to display key information such as shutdown code and problematic drivers. David Weston, VP of Security, emphasized that the goal is to provide clearer error messages to facilitate quick troubleshooting. This permanent change is part of a wider Windows 11 update, which also includes Quick Machine Recovery, aimed at improving system resilience.
