The new Superintelligence Labs division will integrate foundation, research and product development in artificial intelligence. Under the leadership of Alexandr Wang, Nat Friedman will lead applied research, joined by 11 top researchers from OpenAI, Anthropic and Google. Meta has offered attractive salaries to lure experts away from the competition, at a time when Llama's AI is not performing as well as others. The move also influenced OpenAI to review its reward policies to retain its talent. After the announcement, Meta shares hit a record high of $747.90.
