What is the new Instants feature introduced by Meta and what does it bring to users

Meta has announced the launch of a new social feature called Instants, which will be available both on Instagram and as a separate application. Inspired by platforms like Snapchat, Locket, and BeReal, Instants allows users to send photos to close friends or mutual followers, images that automatically disappear after being viewed once and are visible for 24 hours.

Unlike regular posts on Instagram, which are often edited, photos sent via Instants cannot be modified, as they are taken exclusively with the Instagram camera or the dedicated app. The feature can be accessed through a button in the messages section of Instagram, and users who do not wish to use this format can temporarily disable it.

So far, the dedicated app is being tested in a few countries, including Italy and Spain, and is not available globally.
