Meta, the American giant led by Mark Zuckerberg, plans to launch a smartwatch equipped with health and artificial intelligence features this year, according to sources cited by The Information.
This device, internally named Malibu 2, represents the company's second attempt to enter the smartwatch market, after previous plans were abandoned. Meta aims to take advantage of recent advancements in artificial intelligence, which will lead to direct competition with Apple, which dominates the market with the Apple Watch. Additionally, Meta plans to launch two pairs of mixed reality glasses, thus extending the rivalry with Apple, which will introduce a pair of smart glasses next year.
