Apple is developing a second smart display in the HomeView series, known internally by the codename J595, according to Bloomberg. The device is expected to launch in 2027-2028 and will include features designed to improve interaction in the home.
The new product will have a display of approximately 23 centimeters, five centimeters larger than that of the recently launched HomeView model. The main novelty is a robotic arm that will allow the device to rotate 360 degrees.
Using the robotic arm and voice recognition technology, the display is expected to automatically orient itself toward the person speaking. Thus, users will no longer have to sit directly in front of the device, as is the case with the current version.
Apple has been working on smart home products for several years, but the projects have been delayed by issues related to the development of Siri AI. The new display is part of the company’s strategy to expand its presence in the smart home device segment.
