Meta has announced a series of visual changes for the Facebook app, which will not fundamentally affect its functionality or appearance, but will bring targeted improvements. One of the changes is the relocation of the Marketplace button to the bottom bar, to facilitate user access to this section. Additionally, the button for the Friends section will also be placed in the bottom bar, alongside Reels, while other essential sections, such as Home, Notifications, and Profile, remain fixed. Facebook will allow users to customize the buttons in the bar, and the impact of these changes on user preferences remains to be seen.
Furthermore, the app will adopt a standardized grid for displaying images and will introduce the double tap feature to like, similar to Instagram. Another novelty is a full-screen viewing module for images within the search function, which will allow users to view images without leaving the search section. Additionally, comments will be reorganized to facilitate interaction and follow discussions. All these changes will be implemented in the coming weeks, thus improving the user experience on the platform.
