The CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, informed employees that the tech giant made mistakes in the company's reorganization process focused on artificial intelligence, according to an internal memorandum consulted by Reuters. Meta is investing hundreds of billions of dollars in AI development, part of a broad transformation in the tech industry. Zuckerberg emphasized the complexity of these changes and acknowledged that, although the company does not intend to make further global layoffs this year, it will seek new roles for employees affected by the reorganization.
Additionally, Meta has undergone a major restructuring, laying off approximately 10% of its workforce. The company will increase budgets for internal activities and will organize a hackathon in July to stimulate collaboration. Zuckerberg also announced that Meta will reduce the number of employees managed by each manager, considering that some AI divisions had a ratio of 50 employees per manager. Capital expenditure estimates for 2026 have been raised to $125-145 billion, reflecting investments in AI.
