The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced on Monday that he proposed a meeting with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, during the G7 summit, which will take place from June 15-17 in France.

Zelensky stated that this would be a good opportunity for discussions, considering the presence of European leaders and the United States. However, he emphasized that Russia is not ready to talk. A Ukrainian official confirmed that the invitation was sent directly to Russia, but without a clear response.

This proposal comes after Zelensky sent an open letter to Putin, in which he offered for direct discussions, highlighting the need for a ceasefire. In response, Putin stated that he sees no reason for a meeting and that Ukraine's attacks do not pose an economic threat.
