Yair Lapid, the leader of the Israeli opposition, issued a warning to the Iranian regime, emphasizing that it should pay attention to the developments in Venezuela, following the U.S. military attack that led to the capture of President Nicolas Maduro.
This is the first official reaction from Israel after the American bombings on Venezuelan military sites, an action described by Venezuelan authorities as a "theft." Although Lapid has been vocal, no other official from the government led by Benjamin Netanyahu has commented on the intervention.
In Iran, the regime is facing massive protests due to the economic crisis, and Trump has threatened actions against it if the attacks on protesters continue. Netanyahu has previously discussed the possibility of attacking Iran, an ally of Venezuela, in the event of a resumption of its missile and nuclear programs.
