Tensions between Turkey and Greece have intensified, with Turkish President Recep Erdogan demanding that Greece "change direction" and stop the militarization of the islands in the Aegean Sea, which have a demilitarized status.

In an interview, Erdogan emphasized that Turkey has no territorial ambitions but will not allow its rights to be violated. He urged Greece to abandon what he described as a "wrong path" and to respect "international treaties".

Relations between the two countries have deteriorated after Turkey announced the designation of maritime parks and brought back into discussion the theory of "gray zones", challenging Greece's sovereignty over certain islands.

Greece, on the other hand, rejects these interpretations and defends its right to protect its territory.

A meeting between the leaders of the two countries at the UN is considered unlikely, and Greece intends to adopt a firmer stance in its relations with Turkey.
