The preliminary agreement reached by the United States and Iran to stop the war risks causing significant tensions between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Donald Trump. Netanyahu hopes that the war alongside the U.S. will weaken the regime in Tehran, but he is now faced with an agreement that does not meet Israel's objectives and limits military actions. Discontent is deep within the Israeli leadership, with one official describing the agreement as "terrible for Israel."

Moreover, there are fears that the 60-day negotiation period will be extended, preventing Israel from taking military action. Tensions have also risen due to Israeli operations against Hezbollah, and Netanyahu has acknowledged the divergences with Trump but emphasized that Israel will maintain its freedom of action. The agreement could create political difficulties for Netanyahu ahead of the elections, weakening his electoral arguments. The Israeli Minister of Energy has warned that Israel is prepared to act alone if Iran resumes its nuclear programs.
