The incident took place in the center of Munich, where the woman attacked a 56-year-old man and then a 25-year-old woman. Police quickly intervened, using a lethal firearm during the arrest, and the woman later died in hospital. The motives for the attack are still unknown, but there is speculation that the attacker, a Bulgarian national, may have had mental problems. The Bavarian interior minister expressed regret for her death.
