American Vice President JD Vance stated on Monday that he is 'saddened' by the electoral defeat of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, but emphasized that the United States is ready to 'collaborate' with his successor, the conservative Peter Magyar. In an interview with Fox News, Vance said: 'I am saddened that he lost (...) but I am sure we will collaborate very well with the next Hungarian Prime Minister.'

He mentioned that he was aware of the high chances of Orban losing this election, adding that he recently traveled to Budapest to offer Orban the support of the United States. This statement reflects Washington's commitment to maintaining close relations with Hungary, regardless of political changes.
