Drones attributed to Ukraine struck infrastructure targets in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod and Perm regions overnight from Thursday into Friday, according to The Moscow Times and Telegram channels monitoring the war. The alleged targets included a Federal Tax Service data center in Gorodets and the Azot chemical plant in Berezniki.

Gleb Nikitin, governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, confirmed that an infrastructure facility was damaged in the attack and said three people were injured by drone debris. He did not provide details about the nature of the facility, but Ukrainian sources and OSINT analyses claim it was the federal tax service’s backup center.

The facility, operational since 2015, duplicates the main communications center in Dubna and houses tax databases, company registers, population information and cadastral data. Experts cited by the Ukrainian press warn that the damage could affect the operation of some government systems, although the scale of the impact has not been confirmed.

In Berezniki, the attack allegedly targeted the Azot plant, owned by Uralchem. The facility produces nitric acid, ammonium nitrate and other substances also used to manufacture explosives. Russia’s Defense Ministry announced that 443 drones had been shot down over Russia, naming both regions among the areas attacked.
