A Ukrainian drone attack sparked a fire on Wednesday at a logistics hub operated by Russian e-commerce group Ozon in the city of Adygheysk, in southern Russia. The company and regional officials said that staff had been evacuated and that no casualties had been reported so far.

According to regional leader Murat Kumpilov, fragments of “enemy drones” fell in the area and caused damage. Firefighters were deployed to put out the blaze, while damage was also reported in two nearby villages. Ukraine has not commented on the reports.

The Ozon warehouse in Adygheysk was targeted for the second time. The attack is part of a campaign that began in July, in which Ukrainian forces have struck dozens of large logistics centers operated by Ozon and Wildberries in an effort to affect the Russian economy and supply chains.

Last week, Ozon estimated losses of 30.1 billion rubles, equivalent to approximately 367 million dollars, following attacks on 11 locations. The company will cancel orders that cannot be fulfilled from other centers and has temporarily suspended deliveries by sellers to the affected warehouse. The incident comes ahead of U.S.-mediated talks scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi on November 10-11, following an intensification of Russian-Ukrainian air strikes.

Context: Ukraine had previously intensified drone attacks on Ozon and Wildberries logistics centers, targeting Russia’s economic infrastructure

Before the fire at the Ozon logistics hub in Adygeisk, successive attacks on Ozon centers had been reported: during the night, three of the company’s warehouses were hit, including a center in Enem (the Republic of Adygea), while authorities announced destruction and fires. During the same period, in the Krasnodar region, a drone attack caused the deaths of two children and injured other people after fragments fell on a kindergarten.

At the same time, the campaign also expanded to Wildberries. Ukraine announced that drone attacks had disabled seven of Wildberries’ ten largest logistics centers, while in the Moscow region, warehouses in Domodedovo and a logistics center in the Koledino industrial park were among the sites targeted. In parallel, there were reports of fires at other Wildberries warehouses, as well as attacks on facilities in various regions of Russia.
