The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced the signing of an agreement with Latvia in the field of drones, during a meeting with Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs, held in Tallinn, on the occasion of the summit between Ukraine and the Nordic and Baltic states. Zelensky emphasized that this agreement represents concrete measures for strengthening common defense and co-production, highlighting Ukraine's contribution in the field of science and experience.

Although specific details of the agreement were not provided, Kulbergs mentioned that it will bring Latvia technological know-how and co-production opportunities. Zelensky reminded that drones have had a significant impact on the conflict, being responsible for the majority of Russian soldier deaths.

Latvia thus becomes the sixth country to join Ukraine's initiative for cooperation in the field of drones, in the context where nearly 20 countries have expressed interest in such agreements. Zelensky highlighted the importance of protecting Europe from Russian threats, especially in light of recent incidents of drone incursions into the airspace of the Baltic countries.
