Finland and Ukraine have signed a drone agreement, including technology transfer and joint industrial projects

Finland and Ukraine signed, in New York, a new cooperation agreement in the field of drones, providing for the transfer of technology and expertise, as well as joint industrial projects, including the development and production of unmanned aircraft.

The agreement was signed by Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, a few hours after the Helsinki leader’s speech before the UN Security Council. It is the eleventh agreement concluded by Kyiv within this framework.

Zelensky emphasized that the agreement concerns not only the acquisition of military equipment, but also joint security and production. The partnership aims to strengthen Ukraine’s capacity to use and manufacture drones in the context of the war with Russia.

In his speech, Stubb stated that Russian forces had occupied approximately 900 square kilometers this year, while Ukraine had allegedly retaken around 800 square kilometers. According to him, the front line has changed very little, and the continuation of the Russian offensive in Donbas could last for years.
