Britain announces plans to impose bans on convicts, including restrictions on access to pubs, concerts and football matches, as part of efforts to reduce prison overcrowding. Justice Minister Shabana Mahmood emphasized that those serving their sentences in the community should have their freedom restricted. The new measures, which will be formally unveiled, are part of a wider package of reforms to reduce crime and keep prisons for dangerous offenders. Those who break the bans could be brought back before the courts.
