Donald Tusk stated that he does not wish for Rafale planes equipped with nuclear bombs over Poland, but emphasized the importance of nuclear deterrence capabilities in the current context. The statements were made during a meeting with French leaders, where the organization of joint exercises was discussed as part of the French-led effort to include allies in its nuclear strategy.

French President Emmanuel Macron mentioned that information exchanges and joint exercises will be considered, highlighting France's role as the only nuclear power in the European Union. Previously, Macron announced a "new phase in French deterrence," which will involve extensive participation from other European countries in nuclear exercises.
