Turkey launched this week the intercontinental ballistic missile Yıldırımhan, which can reach a range of 6,000 kilometers and a speed of up to 25 times that of sound.

According to the Financial Times, an AI-generated video showed the missile hitting nuclear targets, including in the USA, although Turkish officials acknowledged that there is still no functional prototype. Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler stated that the missile will be used exclusively for deterrence, but that it will be used without hesitation if necessary.

So far, Yıldırımhan is in the testing phase, and mass production has not yet begun. This presentation takes place ahead of the NATO summit in July, and Turkey's longest-range missile, Tayfun, demonstrated a range of 600 kilometers in previous tests.

Turkey is the 11th largest arms exporter in the world and an essential partner for Europe's rearmament.
