The American president Donald Trump will have a phone conversation with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, on October 16, to discuss the situation in Ukraine. This discussion takes place a day before Trump is set to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House, where the possibility of delivering long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine will be discussed.
Trump mentioned that he might offer Putin an ultimatum: serious peace negotiations or missiles for Ukraine. Zelensky will arrive in Washington to discuss necessary supplies with representatives of the defense industry. At the same time, Russia has warned that it will take measures to ensure its security in the event that the U.S. transfers missiles to Ukraine. Trump is also working on a fund for Ukraine's victory, financed by tariffs imposed on China.
