U.S. President Donald Trump asked his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy to stop attacks on Russian diesel fuel reserves, stating that the bombardments are causing a fuel shortage in Russia.

Trump made the statement in Ireland, at his club in Doonbeg, where he was attending the Irish Open golf tournament. Asked whether he had spoken with Zelenskyy after his recent conversation with Vladimir Putin, the White House leader said that the Ukrainian president must cease attacks on Russian oil infrastructure.

“Attack the targets, but not the diesel fuel,” Trump said, according to the Associated Press.

The statement comes as Russia and Ukraine continue their reciprocal drone attacks. On the night from Saturday to Sunday, two people were killed and another 14 injured in the city of Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan, following a Ukrainian attack. The area is home to refineries and major petrochemical plants.

Ukrainian authorities, for their part, reported Russian attacks on the port of Odesa and a fire near the border with Poland. Moscow has intensified its air attacks on Ukraine in recent weeks, also targeting energy infrastructure.
