Donald Trump asked Volodymyr Zelenskyy to reduce attacks on Russian refineries

United States President Donald Trump stated that he had asked his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, to reduce attacks on oil refineries in Russia. Trump claimed that Zelenskyy had responded that he would “probably” do so, although the statement was not directly confirmed by the Ukrainian president or his office.

The White House leader justified his request by saying that Russian refineries supply a large part of the country’s refined fuel, and that the attacks could create a “global problem.” Trump said that Zelenskyy could also take other measures to help reduce tensions.

The statements were made amid intensified efforts by the U.S. administration to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Ukraine launched a massive drone attack on fuel depots in Russia’s Krasnodar region. Local authorities reported fires at three civilian companies, caused by debris from downed drones. No casualties were reported, while independent media reported that the Edelveis-95 fuel depot base may have been among the targets.
