The President of the USA, Donald Trump, announced that he has sent Steve Witkoff to Moscow to discuss with Vladimir Putin a revised peace plan for Ukraine, while the Secretary of the Army, Dan Driscoll, will go to Kiev to obtain its approval. The initial plan, consisting of 28 points, has been adjusted based on proposals from both parties, leaving only a few divergences. Trump emphasized the progress made and expressed hope to meet with the leaders of both countries to finalize the agreement.
Andrii Yermak, the chief of staff of Ukrainian President Zelensky, confirmed the expectation of Driscoll's visit and emphasized Ukraine's commitment to continue negotiations. Zelensky stated that Ukraine is ready to discuss the peace plan but warned that issues related to territorial concessions remain sensitive. Although optimism is present, a Ukrainian diplomat mentioned that a final agreement is far from being assured, considering Russia's positions.
