President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Friday that retroactively reduces tariffs on agricultural products, including beef, tomatoes, coffee, and bananas, starting from the previous day. This decision comes in response to significant price increases and dissatisfaction among voters, which has been reflected in recent polls. The order exempts these goods from reciprocal trade tariffs, which range from 10% to 50%, but does not completely exempt them from existing tariffs. For example, tomatoes from Mexico will continue to be taxed at 17%, and Brazilian coffee will remain subject to tariffs of 50%. This measure is influenced by electoral pressures, as voters express their frustrations regarding the current economy. At the same time, the Trump administration announced a new trade framework with Switzerland, reducing tariffs on Swiss goods from 39% to 15%.
