A tragic aviation accident occurred in Tijuca National Park, located on the slopes of the mountains in Rio de Janeiro, where a Robinson R44 helicopter crashed, resulting in the death of the pilot and three Colombian women.
They were part of a group of six members of the same family, who came to Brazil to celebrate the 15th anniversary of a teenager. The deceased women were the grandmother, an aunt, and a cousin of the teenager, who was to take a second flight together with her father.
The accident took place near the Vista Chinesa monument, a popular spot for tourists.
The city's mayor, Eduardo Cavaliere, has requested the National Civil Aviation Agency to enhance safety measures for helicopter flights, considering that this incident comes after another aviation accident in June, which resulted in multiple casualties.
