The Energy Minister of Qatar, Saad al-Kaabi, stated that energy exports could take "weeks or months" to return to normal after an Iranian drone attack on the largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in the country. Qatar, the second largest LNG producer, declared a state of major force, releasing companies from contractual obligations. Al-Kaabi warned that if the conflict continues, global GDP will be affected, and energy prices will rise, leading to shortages of products. Additionally, the Chinese government has requested a suspension of diesel and gasoline exports, affecting global supply. Refineries in Asia have begun to cut production, and China, which relies on imports from the Gulf, is pressuring Iran to avoid disrupting gas exports from Qatar.
