According to a proposal from Customs and Border Protection (CBP), all social media accounts of foreign tourists wishing to enter the U.S. will be checked, regardless of whether they need a visa or not. Tourists will be required to provide accounts used in the last five years, and submitting this information will be mandatory. Additionally, details such as email addresses, phone numbers, and information about family members will be required. The project also includes the collection of biometric data, such as facial recognition, fingerprints, DNA, and iris scans. These changes are subject to a 60-day public consultation.
