The United States has asked Israel to stop attacks on Iran's energy infrastructure, according to sources cited by Axios. The message was conveyed at a high political level and to the chief of the Israeli army's General Staff, Eyal Zamir.
American officials cited three reasons for this request: the desire to collaborate with Iran in the energy sector after the conflict ends, concern about the impact of these attacks on the Iranian population, and fears of possible reprisals from Tehran that could affect the energy infrastructure of Gulf states. So far, American officials have not publicly commented on this matter. President Donald Trump previously mentioned that the U.S. military struck 5,000 targets in Iran but left the energy sector intact to support the country's recovery after the removal of the theocratic regime.
