Iran is publicly stating that it is preparing for a renewed conflict with the United States and is threatening Washington and its allies with attacks on targets in the region and beyond. The messages have intensified over the past month, amid the impasse following the war that began in February and uncertainty over the Trump administration’s next decisions.
Hossein Mohebbi, spokesman for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said that Iran has new weapons and targets that have not yet been attacked. Iranian officials have specifically mentioned undersea internet cables, data centers, artificial intelligence facilities, and oil and gas infrastructure.
Tehran maintains that the war is not over and that the military is prepared for a prolonged conflict. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced nationwide military exercises and the launch of 30 ballistic missiles. Analysts warn that Iran could resort to preemptive attacks, coordinated drone swarms, improved cruise missiles, and satellite-jamming operations.
Meanwhile, the US administration is considering new military and economic options. According to officials cited by CNN, US plans could include using the GBU-43/B bomb, known as the “mother of all bombs,” against Iranian energy infrastructure and nuclear sites.
Residents of Tehran say they are preparing for a possible resumption of the bombing by stockpiling supplies and charging power banks. Gulf states say they are better prepared than at the start of the conflict, but warn that a new escalation could affect regional security, civilian infrastructure, and the global economy.
