The Secretary of Homeland Security, Markwayne Mullin, stated that the Trump administration is developing plans to suspend the processing of international travelers and goods at major U.S. airports in "sanctuary cities" that have refused to cooperate with measures to combat illegal immigration.

In an interview with Fox News Channel, Mullin mentioned that he met with officials at the White House, but emphasized that no final decision has been made in this regard. Last week, sources in the tourism industry were privately informed by Mullin that the department might opt to cease the customs and immigration processing of international travelers.

Airports in cities such as Denver, Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Newark, Seattle, and San Francisco have been mentioned as possible locations for this action. This measure could have a significant impact on international travel and commerce in these regions.
