Armed attack at a school in Thailand: Six dead and 15 injured after a student opened fire / The alleged perpetrator committed suicide

A shooting attack took place on Friday at Debsirin School in Nonthaburi province, located north of Bangkok, resulting in the death of six people and injuring at least 15, two of whom are in critical condition, according to Thai authorities.

The police confirmed that the presumed perpetrator of the attack, a student, committed suicide after carrying out the act. The incident triggered panic among students and teachers, who were forced to evacuate the building.

A student stated that he initially thought the sounds were coming from firecrackers. Footage captured by emergency teams shows students pouring out of the school in waves, while the courtyard was surrounded by ambulances and police forces.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the attack.
