The Russian landing ship 'Aleksandr Shabalin' is anchored in the Lübeck Bay, at its entrance, and is guarded by the Federal Police and Navy. Although it was previously observed approaching the coast of Denmark, there is no evidence that it has launched the drones that have flown over Danish airfields.

'Shabalin' has been navigating in the Baltic Sea for months and has a transport capacity of approximately 340 soldiers, as well as military equipment. Security expert Jacob Kaarsbo suggests that the ship could have a surveillance role and may be part of an intimidation strategy. Currently, the ship is being monitored by German and Danish maritime authorities, who have sent patrol vessels to oversee its activities.
