Irakli Kobakhidze, the Prime Minister of Georgia, stated that the protesters who attempted to force their way into the presidential palace had made a failed attempt to overturn the constitutional order. He accused the European Union of interfering in Georgia's internal affairs and called on the EU ambassador to condemn the protests. Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets to protest against the government amid a prolonged political crisis, and the police intervened with tear gas to disperse the crowd.
