The American Department of Defense announced on Tuesday that it has reduced the number of combat brigades stationed in Europe from four to three, marking a new phase in the reduction of the American military presence on the Old Continent, initiated by President Donald Trump.

This reduction, equivalent to approximately 4,000 soldiers, has led to a delay in the deployment of troops in Poland, according to the ministry's statement. The announcement comes in the context of the constant pressure exerted by Trump on European allies to increase their defense spending.

In recent weeks, the Pentagon announced the withdrawal of 5,000 troops from Germany and canceled the deployment of 4,000 soldiers in Poland.

The American Vice President emphasized that the deployment is delayed, not canceled, and called on Europe to become more autonomous in defense. Additionally, the Pentagon reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a strong military presence in Poland, an example of high military spending relative to GDP.
