The Nobel Institute in Norway emphasized that, once announced, the Nobel Peace Prize cannot be revoked, divided, or transferred to other individuals, according to the statutes of the Nobel Foundation. This clarification came after the leader of the Venezuelan opposition, María Corina Machado, suggested that she could offer the 2025 prize to American President Donald Trump, as a gesture of gratitude from the Venezuelan people for his actions against President Nicolás Maduro. The Norwegian Nobel Committee reaffirmed that the decision to award the prize is final and permanent, and the committee members do not comment on the actions of the laureates after receiving the awards.
