The presidential commission has decided that Mayor Ghenadi Truhanov could be stripped of his Ukrainian citizenship, awaiting President Zelensky to sign the decree. According to the legislation, his mandate will cease after the Local Council acknowledges this loss. In the meantime, Igor Koval, the secretary of the Municipal Council, will take over the duties, but he avoided commenting on the situation, mentioning unconfirmed rumors. The former secretary of the Local Council, Aleksei Potapski, warned that the removal of the mayor could generate administrative chaos, while sources from the presidential commission stated that no final decision has been made.
