The last surviving pilot of the Battle of Britain, John "Paddy" Hemingway, has died aged 105.

<p>John 'Paddy' Hemingway was one of the pilots known as 'The Few' who defended the United Kingdom during the Second World War. Born in 1919, Hemingway joined the Royal Air Force (RAF) in 1938. During the Battle of Britain, he shot down an enemy plane but was forced to crash-land.
