British actor John Alford, famous for his roles in the series 'Grange Hill' and 'London's Burning', died on March 13, 2026, in HMP Bure prison, Norfolk, at the age of 54. His death came just two months after he was sentenced to 8 and a half years for sexual assaults against two underage girls, aged 14 and 15. In April 2022, Alford provided alcohol to the victims at a party before sexually assaulting them. Although he denied the allegations, the court found him guilty on four counts. His career, which started promisingly, was marred by scandals, including a previous conviction for drug supply. The Prison and Probation Ombudsman will investigate the circumstances of his death, according to standard procedures.
