The press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, stated that the Kremlin has not received any reaction from Romania following Vladimir Putin's comments regarding the drone that crashed in Romania. Putin stated that Russia could conduct an objective investigation if provided with concrete data, such as debris from the drone.
At the same time, the mayor of Bucharest, Nicușor Dan, has confirmed that the drone that crashed in Galați is of the Geran-2 type, originating from Russia, according to a report finalized by Romanian specialists. The analyses identified inscriptions in Cyrillic characters and similarities with other Geran-2 drones.
The incident, which caused injuries and material damage, is considered to be of particular seriousness, and Romania emphasizes Russia's responsibility. Romanian authorities will communicate the results of the investigation to NATO allies and the European Union, reaffirming their commitment to protect the safety of citizens and the integrity of national territory.
