The European Parliament has adopted a reform that allows for the simplification of the mechanism for reintroducing visas for several countries, including the Republic of Moldova.

The new legislation allows for the withdrawal of the right to travel without a visa in cases of security risks or violations of human rights. It adds additional grounds for suspension and provides the EU with flexibility in managing visa issuance. The reform establishes clear thresholds for suspension and will come into effect after formal approval by the Council.
